Sort of: Dilated pupils are larger than normal and don't react to light as much as normal.See your personal provider to further evaluate the cause.

Pupils: Mydriasis means dilation of pupil from any cause.

Go to ER: One dilating pupil suggests something is going one with one side of the brain or optic nerve -  i'd recommend having someone drive you to the er immediately for assessment.

See a doc: It might be nothing of concern, but if you are having headaches with pupillary changes you really need to be evaluated right away.

i have been waking up with my right pupil bigger than the left( it only last about 30 mins). it started a couple months ago but has only happened a handful of times. i also get a migraine/headache when it happens. should i see my pcp?

: Best would be to see a neurologist or ophthalmologist physician for testing, as visual symptoms as described should be evaluated by an expert.

Not usually: Fluoxetine (prozac) is not usually associated with pupil dilation, although the pupils may be slightly less reactive to light.  The medicine is a selective seratonin reuptake inhibitor (ssri) and can cause dry mouth, dry eyes and other side effects.

Can occur: Fluoxetine can cause mydriasis (pupil dilation) as one of the possible side effects given its effects on your autonomic nervous system (sweating/diaphoresis is another related side effect).  This usually goes away over time.

i have had a chronic migraine lasting 5 days associated with nausea and light headedness. the pain is debilitating and also noticed when it reaches its peak my left pupil dilates (unequal pupils). could this just be a migraine or is imaging necessary?

See a Dr: Dilated pupil with severe headache/nausea can be a sign of increase intracranial pressure and should be thoroughly worked up by your Dr. The workup will include an exam, lab tests and imaging to determine the cause and treatment. It is possible that this could get worse if left untreated, so don't delay.
