Depends on which one: If you have a typical 28 pill pack, the last 7 are placebos (no hormone).  If you took that one, the effect would be the same as skipping a pill during the month.  It is was one of the pills from the first 21 days, likely you will have no effect.  In general with most pills if you skip more than one pill per cycle pack, you risk of pregnancy increases.

Could effect it: See your gyn, at your age if u wnat no more kids i would offer you an in office tubal, takes 5 minutes, you are awake, minimal - to no discomfort, miss 1/2 day of work, almost always covered by insurance, many of my pts, if they do not have a deductable , just have a small $10-$60 co-pay or sometimes not even a co-pay.

Just be cautious: combined birth control pills for ladies above 35 years has to taken with caution, and contraindicated if any risk factor as hypertension, history of  thromboembolism, obesity, etc.. at any age. Confer with your doctor and keep a regular follow up, there are different alternatives for birth control that would suit every person, best wishes
