Medication: Talk to your Gp. They might  be able to dispense slightly extra medication but not for a year.

RA: Most primary care physicians or specialists in internal medicine are capable of treating rheumatoid arthritis and can prescribe your methotrexate. The elbow discomfort is most likely a flare up of your RA since you're off your medication.

Disease mod med: Methotrexate (mtx) is used for a variety of conditions. In rheumatology mtx is most commonly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA) . We use 10-25 mg given once weekly for ra. Mtx treats symptoms (pain) but also prevents joint damage and disability in ra. The main side effects: fatigue, some hair loss,  and  upset stomach. We monitor blood counts and liver tests every 2-3 months.

RF Factor: RF is a blood test that can be used to evalauted for multiple conditions.  In patients with rhumatological conditions there is no evidnece that a drop in the RF value is of any clinical significance while on therapy.  The most important considerations for treating RA are the symptoms and any evidnece of joint destruciton on imagining.

Could be Crohn's: Some of the most common side effects can be similar to symptoms of crohn's. These include mouth sores, fever, diarrhea, blood in your stools, body aches and abdominal pain. You may want to check with your doctor and make sure this is not a flare up of your disease.

when on methotrexate for ctd, how to know if mildly low white blood cell count is due to ctd or medication? i'm feeling great with no illnesses.

Leukopenia: Unfortunately, there is no easy way to know whether your count is low due to your connective tissue disease or your medication other than doing a bone marrow biopsy. But this is extreme and unnecessary as long as your count isn't too bad and you're feeling well.

Yes: Enbrel, humira, remicade, simponi, (golimumab) cimzia.

See below: As a good rule of thumb, if you have an infection, you would want to leave off your Methotrexate and Imuran (azathioprine) and when the infection resolves, you can resume them.

Methotrexate: You may take cold medicine with methotrexate. One medicine not to use echinacea but most others are ok.
