Skin on your feet: Somewhere between 99% and 101% of young men who are physically active have at least a few palpable lymph nodes in their groin. Trusting you're std-free. The usual biopsy diagnosis is either nonspecific of dermatopathic lymphadenopathy -- an athlete's feet get roughed up in his shoes and socks, and products of injury drain to the protective groin nodes.

i have been diagnosed with bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy. but my inguinal lymph nodes do not hurt at all? does this diagnosis sound right?

Need work-up: Bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathies-mean-you have lymph nodes enlargement that are located on both groins area. Now, it is not a diagnosis-it is just a sign/clinical finding. Diagnosis still has to be made. There are different things that can cause above finding- inflammation, autoimmune problem, infection, malignancy etc. Please go to see your md for eval- ie-blood work, imaging, biopsy etc.

Don't assume: No, it is not normal and should be evaluated by your doctor.  It can be a sign of infection in the vaginal area in some cases.  It can also be the result of "varicosities" in the vulva - this is more normal.  Go get examined by your ob/gyn and have them assess exactly what is going on!

i got ct scan of abdomen and pelvis last july and it showed inguinal lymphadenopathy and a possible inflammatory change in colon.my doctor wants to repeat ct to look at lymph nodes and since i've been ill for a year.should i worried about radiation?

: It is correct that you are concerned about radiation exposure with CT of the abdomen and pelvis.
I would not have it done if you have been free from all GI symptoms since then.
The test is indicated if you are still suffering with lower GI symptoms; however, a colonoscopy with biopsy is more helpful for diagnosing chronic inflammatory bowel syndrome.
I' m not concerned much about the adenopathy.

How does he FEEL?: If the nodes are not huge or obviously abnormal, it's likely you'll never find the cause and it will prove to be a non-problem. I'm glad the CBC was normal. If Junior is otherwise well, be thankful that he's probably helathy.

Exam: A surgeon or primary care will feel the area and ask you to cough or bear down. A hernia is distinguishable from a lymph node in most cases. Ultrasound is also helpful.

Wait and see: I'm certain that someone somewhere has had fixed nodes that were biopsied and found to be benign.  The term fixed or mated nodes brings to mind conditions such as lymphoma.  Best not to speculate but wait and see the pathology report.  Best of luck.

Needs attention: Breast cancer can recurr, so this needs to be carefully assessed and monitored. Pleural based densities can be old inflammatory changes or new..So a caomparison with older x-rays/scans should be done to determine if they are new. In either case, a repeat study shou;ld be done in 2 months to look for further growth. A pet scan can also determine if this change is likely to be cancer related or not.

Infectious mononucleosis: a viral disease affecting lymphoid tissues all over the body, and resembling bacterial tonsillitis, can give the blood picture you described, please keep the follow up with your doctor who definitely would judge better with more data and physical exam, wish your child  speedy recovery
