You need to go to th: The er tonight or call your gyn as you need an exam , blood work to r/ o preg and to see how anemic u are and to check other hormones, and a pelvic ultrasound and then the proper treatment can be prescribed.

If you are done with pregnancies you may be a candidate for an in office endometrial ablation to lighten or stop your cycles.

Absolutely: You would probably benefit from taking an iron supplement.  Speak to your doctor about perhaps started birth control pills.  It's actually a common reason why it is initiated in young women.  The pill usually makes your period shorter and lighter, and would certainly help the anemia from getting worse.

You may take over the counter iron pills 2-3 times a day, as tolerated, take the pills withe meals.

Yes: Most women who are menstruating lean toward iron deficiency. Any Iron supplement should suffice. If combined with Vitamin C, iron absorption is about 90%. Without Vitamin C, iron absorption can be as low as 10%. Vitamin C also help avoid constipation, a frequent complaint from women on iron supplements.
