Maybe: I am not aware of any medical studies showing that memory foam mattresses cause forward head posture or back pain.  In fact, there are few studies showing a link between mattresses and back pain, although a 2003 study showed that a majority of patients did better on a medium firm mattress.

No: Sleep on whatever allows you to get a good night's rest & wake up refreshed w/o any aches or pains. Same goes for hard vs soft mattress and for (thickness of) pillows. Makes no difference whether coils are individually wrapped or not. Or if cotton or wool or whatever. Don't buy into mattress ad hype.

See doctor : Most likely musculoligamentouss and a good back excercise/stretching program will help,but you should see an orthopedist to  be examined and get at least  x-rays to rule out other causes

Best quality for $: Forget about his size curve, it does not factor into your choice of bed.  You want a bed that is comfortable-usually a relatively firm mattress that is good quality for cost or has a good term warranty & return policy!  all mattresses will wear out especially if not rotated regularly and if you are heavy or obese. Our ancestors slept on leaves, branches , grasses & even hides!

Back pain mattress:  Go to a store a try a few out as each back is different, as is each mattress. In general I prefer coils but you shouldn't feel the coils. Many recommend firm or medium firm. F/u/ with orthopedist/ spine specialist..
