Talk to cardiologist: Trivial tricuspid stenosis is not hemodynamically significant. Is it a Echocardiogrphic diagnosis?  Any symptoms?

i have shortness of breath. in my cardiac mri i noticed that it said mild mr and mitral regurgitant volume 16 ml and fraction 20%, and no mitral stenosis. it also said trivial tricuspid regurgitation, and no tricuspid stenosis. can these be treated?

: The findings of mild mitral regurgitation (regurgutant volume 16ml and fraction 20%)  can hardly explain shortness of breath and does not require any treatment, just monitoring. Trivial tricuspid regurgitation is a normal finding on many people. Further work up is needed to investigate shortness of breath.

Possibly: Tricuspid stenosis is more likely to cause hypertrophy (thickening) of the right ventricle, whereas tricuspid regurgitation is more likely to cause dilatation, where the chamber increases in volume without much thickening.

More info: So i'm a little confused because an echocardiogram can't really see plaques. I can explain the concentric lvh: this means that the heart muscle is thickened; the most common reasons are because of longstanding high blood pressure or narrowing of the aortic valve.

Need cardiologist!: There are a number of concerning findings on your echocardiogram. The left ventricular function (how strong your pump is) is just a little low; I'm not that concerned about that. The valves, especially aortic, are the biggest problem: to have both aortic regurgitation (back flow across the valve) and narrowing (stenosis) is very concerning. Follow up soon with your cardiologist. Good wishes:)

"arthritis" or pain: There are no drugs that can enlarge the space for nerves. The non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaid, "arthritis") are also pain relievers. Examples are aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen. They can help, but have side effects such as upset stomach (read the label). Acetaminophen (tylenol (acetaminophen) & other brands) can also help. Other medications require a doctor's prescription. All can have side effects.

More below: Yes.  Diuretics and beta blockers however mitral stenosis will lead to death if the valve area is less than 1 cm2 and it remains untreated (surgically).

is evogliptin a safe drug ? mayo is running a trial to see if it is effective in delaying aortic stenosis progression. i am considering applying for enrollment if evogliptin is otherwise safe?

: Evogliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor which has been used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus for several years outside the USA. It is considered safe but it should not be used for patient with history of pancreatitis. In the US, we have used other medications in this group for many years. Good luck.

Not first treatment: Homeopathy is not the first treatment to be used in aortic stenosis. Full cardiology evaluation -- and depending on how much the valve problem is impacting cardiac function and the patient's life, possibly surgery -- is required.  That said, there are a few homeopathic remedies known to help. But you definitely need a professional homeopath for this. Care should be collaborative w/cardiology..

my mother has severe aortic stenosis and has converted to a-fib a few days ago. she was placed on pradaxa. is it the right drug choice for her?

Depends: Severe aortic stenosis with atrial fibrillation should at least be considered for surgery. If not a surgical candidate then considered for a new type of valve procedure called tavi or tavr. Pradaxa was approved to reduce stroke risk caused by atrial fibrillation. The one issue is it should be afib that was not a result of valvular heart disease. That is something her cardiologist should decide.
