Meloxicam allergy: Meloxicam  is a nonsteroidal anti-Inflammatory drug.  An allergy occurs when your body’s immune system creates antibodies to a foreign substance causing a reaction that can be mild to severe.  Meloxicam may cause anaphylaxis.

Treatment involves discontinuing the medication that’s causing the reaction. Other medications can reduce the allergy symptoms, such as antihistamines. In severe cases, bronchodilators, or epinephrine may be needed.

to follow up on dr. heip le question. my wife takes the following pills. keppra (for epilepsy), loratadine(for allergies), baclofen,turmeric, meloxicam, cyclobenzaprine, and magnesium pills to try to help stop the muscle spasms i be having?

: Your wife is not taking any medication which I mentioned in the previous comment. 
Does she take Baclofen, Cyclobenzaprine, Turmeric, Meloxicam and Magnesium just for the cramping? That means she was already evaluated by a doctor. What's his (her) thought about the cause?
Except Keppra, I would advise to stop the above med one by one, especially Meloxicam which can can cause gastroduodenal ulcer.

No: If there are doubts about the biopsy, and it's clear that the lesion was sampled by the operator, then get two more pathologists to look at the slide.

Similar: In clinical trials they all have similar results.  However, in my experience different people do better on different meds.  For example, some people tell me the Mobic (meloxicam) works better, but others say Celebrex is gentler on their stomach.  You may have to try a few and see which works best for you.

is it safe to chew ,or split, meloxicam 15 mg tablets? i have a hard time swallowing medicine.

No splitting tabs: Splitting tablets rarely gets 2 equal sides, moreover, the powder forming the tab may not be uniform on both sides. There is a 7.5mg tab which may be smaller. Better would be to rub butter or margarine on the tab before swallowing or eat a cracker, then swallow the pill with that ‘bolus’.  Chewing may be harmful.

NSAIDS: Meloxicam is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication.  It is usually used to treated painful conditions, including arthritis.  There are many more nsaids such as naprosyn, etodolac, Celebrex (celecoxib) ... For arthritic pain.

NSAIDs: These are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines and work very well to help with common problems caused by inflammation - arthritis, for example.  All anti-inflammatories (including over the counter nsaids) have the risk of putting a litte extra strain on the heart.  Although some of these medicatins (vioxx, bextra) were removed from the market, overall most doctors agree these are very safe.

my husband had surgery 2 days ago and is on meloxicam 15mg. he mistakenly took 2 tonight instead of his pain medicine. he had already taken one this morning too. what should i watch for?? is this an emergency?

: I would think not. If it helped pain he main not need pain meds.
