Depends: All medications have some side-effects & what may cause a side effect in you may not in someone else. Sometimes we need to experiment to find the balance between what causes the least side-effects for an individual while still controlling the problem. Your md should be able to find a combo of meds that works with minimal impact.

OK: At your age I would only start medication for very high cholesterol, family history of heart disease or if you had a heart attack.  Diet  and exercise along with genetics are the main determining factors- don't worry about eggs and such.  It's dietary fat that will raise your cholesterol most.  A low fat diet with plenty of fiber will definitely lower your numbers.  Checking once a year enough

Hypertension: check his potassium level with water pill part of blood pressure med. pulse is fine. wt loss mite be water loss or diet &amp; exercise. Dr mite stop the water pill (HCTZ) in his BP med.

Work up needed: You are suffering from resistant hypertension and 7 BP meds for a 26 year old is highly unusual. You need to have work up done for hormonal disorders and other conditions which can cause secondary hypertension. 
Please have your primary care physician refer you to see a nephrologist for evaluation.

Hypertension: There are a lot of factors.  I see you list a stroke as one of your conditions.  Talk to your doctor.  He/she my recommend a beta blocker as an antihypertensive with other benefits.  If the adrenaline levels are abnormally high, your doctor may want to work you up for a pheochromocytoma, although this is rare.

: Your blood pressure is normal, not low, because you are taking the medication regularly. So if you hold the medication you defeat the purpose. However, when symptoms of low blood pressure develop the dose can be adjusted by then.
