Folk medicine : Try Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo for few weeks, twice week, probably you have some kind of fungal scalp condition. There are several folk medicine formulations which i don't  know if it works.

1% Lindane shampoo: Two treatments, a week apart, provide a good result.  In case of treatment failure (resistant lice), Malathion should be considered.

A picture is worth..: ..a thousand words.  There are NUMEROUS causes of a red skin bump. Perhaps most likely is a small hemangioma/blood vessel proliferation or tiny blood vessel injury. Other possibilities: an infected pimple, eczema/dry skin, contact allergy (touching something irritating). Submit a picture to HealthTap or see your Doctor/Dermatologist for diagnosis; 3 months is long enough to wonder:)

Yes: There are many unproven methods you can try;  mayonnaise, eucerin cream with a hair drier, tea tree oil, and many more you can find on the internet.    The only fool proof method i know that doesn't involve medicines is to shave the head.  Lice require a hair length of at least half and inch to lay their eggs (nits) and reproduce.

See a dermatologist: This is not caused by shampoo a month ago. When you go, bring all soaps, shampoos. Vitamins, supplements, meds. Laundry detergent is not relavent.

Dandruff: Dandruff is not dry scalp, but an inflammatin of the scalp that produces flaking skin, and often redness and itch. The two major causes of dandruff are seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis. Seb derm is easier to treat with dandruff shampoos. Psoriasis needs stronger treatments like tgel, tsal shampoos and a coal tar lotion and a cortisone lotion.You need to treat it every day, and icannot stop.

Change shampoo: If you do not like the smell of selsun, there are numerous other dandruff shampoos. Try head and shoulders, nizoral, (ketoconazole) dhs, t-sal. You fail to indicate if selsun cleared the flakes. If otc shampoo does not clear it, see a dermatologist.

Consult PCP: you may need both oral antibiotics and topical skin antibiotics. The shampoo was not not specified, but medicated shampoo is always helpful.

Get your thyroid : checked soon. Best to reverse engineer and find the actual cause. Then, treat the cause, so that the symptoms will disappear. Don't do the converse. There are no medicated shampoos for hair loss.  Best you can do is see your doctor, and be placed on get you thyroid function treated soon.
