when is  surgery medically indicated for a hernia?

When it bothers you: No one can predict future complication regarding a hernia so most doctors recommend elective intervention to avoid problems such as acute incarceration/strangulation.  Elective hernia repair is usually simple with minimal risk, urgent hernia repair can be very involved - at times needing bowel resection.  Urgent hernia surgery is also associated with higher recurrence rate.

i am on nesopram 20mg twice a day for hiatus hernia and it is costly. if it is a medical condition that requires ongoing medication can it be considered/paid for by chronic? is there another cheaper generic?

Yes: Their are cheaper brands like Omeprazole. Moreover it will not affect the hiatal hernia but may reduce symptoms of GERD.  Follow GERD precautions and could use cheaper H2 blockers like Ranitidine, avoid smoking and do not lay than at least one after eating

Hemorrhoid vs hernia: What it is depends on its location.  A hemorrhoid is typically located on the rectum while a hernia can be found on your abdomen or pelvic region.  If it is causing you pain or concern I would suggest going to see a primary care physician for examination

Hiatal hernia: Hiatal hernia is due to minor abnormality in organ development resulting in a poorly functioning sphincter muscle between the stomach and esophagus; sometimes a part of the stomach even slides up into the chest. These do not resolve without surgery. Spicy foods and overeating will make symptoms worse, as well as alcohol and caffeine.

now for umbilical hernia surgery is indicated depending on the size and the symptoms associated with the hernia the larger the hernia is the higher chance of problems then surgery is must.

Let me explain: To answer this question it is good to have the MRI for review, I do thing you can do it but the chance this may exacerbate this problem is there. Good luck.

See a doc: First - if symptoms are persistent and/or severe, you need an egd.  This is a simple test that is painless to look inside your esophagus and stomach to confirm the diagnosis and to look for premalignant changes.  Try otc Omeprazole or a similar acid blocker - don't eat right before gouing to bed.

i had 4 c-sections. repaired hernia with medical mesh. i have saggy belly and i want to go in gor liposuction.  is it safe?

Not sure: Liposuction is what you need done. May require a tummy tuck to get rid of the saggy belly.
