Only as precribed: You may use gelusil but only within reasonble
limits because it could, if taken excessively, 
interefere with calcium and phosphorus
absorption or even vitamin B12 absorption.      Consult your obstetrician if your heartburn
persists in spite of gelusil.

Omeprazole: I would try a two week course of omeprazole. If still have trouble test for hpylori in the stomach.

The age group: recommendation for Gelusil is 12 and up. You may want to try Tums, (calcium carbonate) if that is available and speak to his doctor about possible causes if it continues.

High CEA doesn't make a diagnosis.  Helpful for follow up. If ca diagnosed, CEA checked.  If elevated, follow after treatment.  So if CEA high before surgery, CEA should fall after, and with chemo/rt.  Cea rises can be with recurrence or metastatic spread. Lower is better.
