Maternity leave: If there are problems in your last trimester, your leave will be discussed with your OB provider.  Most wait until delivery before using maternity leave, since for most insurances , this "time off" is paid for by employers, and you will need the time since new babies tend to require extensive work by the mom and dad !

Not often: This has generally been legislated out of most plans although it was common in the past.  Many plans, however, have time limitations so no coverage for many conditions including pregnancy for a period of 4-8 months after signing up to prevent people with no insurance or competing insurance from jumping into a new plan while already having a condition.

Lactation consultant: Most maternity stores that sell clothes have a section for maternity bras that are made weli. In addition, most hospitals where babies are delivered have lactation specialists on staff. Many of those specialists may be able to fit you for not only a maternity bra, but (even more importantly) a lactation bra that provides good support and opens for breast feeding. Buy those after the baby is born.

Plan in Advance: Talk to your boss or HR department at the beginning of your pregnancy so that you are not hiding anything. Make a tentative plan in your mind and if something unexpected happens your doctor will help you with it. Make sure you have all the necessary paperwork to your doctor on time, don't wait until the last minute. Once everything is set you can relax and be excited as the time gets close!

Time with baby: If taking time off before the baby is born means you get less time with the baby....Then don't do it.  Having worked while pregnant, i understand that it is difficult and tiring.  However work until you go into labor if possible.  Save your maternity leave for time with the baby.

Diligently..: Returning to the work place after being "off" with your newborn can be stressful.  The best way to accomplish this is to make a list of what you need to have done[feeding schedule and prep, shopping list, etc.}; and then assign the tasks to whomever is going to be home to help out.  As important as the child care issues are; do not forget that you will need some 'you' time as well!

Loose is best: This is a time to go for comfort and function over fashion. Pregnant women should look for oversized clothing they already have or can borrow. They can also buy boys' shirts. There is little need to spend a lot of money on fashionable clothes for pregnancy. A couple of pairs of pants and skirts with expandable waist might be enough. If planning to breast feed, pretty but functional tops are good.

Ob/Gyn: Obstetricians/gynecologists are the experts in childbirth, maternity, and women's health, though there are also some internal medicine specialists and subspecialists in endocrinology who have additional interest and training in women's health issues.

Talk with MD: You need to discuss this with your MD. Pregnancy alone increases the risk of blood clots, so if you have some abnormality in your clotting factors, it could put you at an even higher risk, and you may need to be on blood thinner.

No: Loose, comfortable clothing of any style is fine. Pregnant women are beautiful no matter what they wear!
