An MRI is next 2 try: 2 diagnose the growth. Next most likely would be a biopsy. If a needle biopsy is opted for it is done by a radiologist who has special training in interventional radiology. Another way is to have it done laparoscopically, the mass does not sound like it is excisable. Surgeon if needed is a general surgeon.

malignant tumor removed surgically from sigmoid colon, the dr. said he found a very tiny mass on the uterus (millimeters) which didn't appear in ct. is this considered as metastasis or still stage 3?

Depends: The doctor should be able to tell you whether the uterine tumor was the same tissue as the colon or uterine   was the mass on the uterus malignant as well?

So, it could be metastasis or a benign separate tumor. Her doctor should be able to give more details.

ct w contrast of abdominal and pelvic cavity. small hiatal hernia. nothing else found. colonoscopy is in 1 week. likelihood of finding a major tumor during procedure. the ct would pic up a 2cm or larger colon mass correct?
