MJ speeds heart rate: We don't know much about effects of mj on the heart except it increases heart rate & might slightly increase blood pressure. It's your business: I'd ask, "How do you FEEL?" Some folks who are operated for hypoplastic left heart enjoy near-normal physical fitness, and that includes the ability to smoke stuff. Cannabis is probably about as bad for you as tobacco but it less addictive and folks smoke less. It's also illegal and physicians worry about liability if they okay it. Don't know: A suddenly release of T3, (liothyronine) thereby causing tachycardia and potentially serious enough to result in a heart attack: this is not a known side effect of marijuana.  On the other hand, what you may be getting in your marijuana is unlikely to have been subjected to rigorous regulatory procedure, scientific or legal. So you takes your chances.

Not so good: Marijuana increases heart rate from 20-100% shortly after smoking, and this can last at least 3 hours afterwards.  Smoking marijuana also makes you nearly 5 times as likely to have a heart attack during the first hour after smoking.  This may be from the increased heart rate and arrythmias that happen with this.  Risk is higher with older populations and those with existing heart problems.

Surgery: Exposure to secondhand smoking should not affect the outcomes of your surgery. In general, would be best if you avoid exposure to secondhand smoking. Try to encourage smokers around you to quit.

Normal range is 60- 100 so this may be normal for you
