Some good, some bad: Simple colds newborns usually have fairly good resistance to through antibodies the mother has in her system. True influenza, though, varies a lot. If the mother received an influenza vaccine during the pregnancy, there are protective antibodies the baby has received that help a lot. But if mom is not vaccinated for that year, newborns are at great risk for influenza and can become very ill.

No cold formulas: I would advise to give at least room temperature formulas to your baby .Newborns have a hard time conserving heat and lose heat very easily .

Yes: Silent aspiration, where the baby, when nippling, has a poor or abnormal swallow and the formula or breastmilk goes down the trachea (windpipe). Also, if there is a heart problem, the first signs can be failure which can present as congestion.
