Hidden: Even though it sounds like something you find in a quija board, it just means that the source of the cancer is unknown. It is not terribly uncommon to see a malignancy that spread to many places from an unknown origin. Sometimes we  are successful in identifying the site of origin, sometimes we can't and we have to do the best we can with the available data.

Information, calm: I suggest keeping calm, and not allowing yourself to be overcome with emotion.  Make sure you are giving your family member accurate information. Be clear that it is impossible to predict the future with certainty, despite our medical technology.  Many treatments are available.  It is also important to address the patient's spiritual needs in a time like this through prayer and meditation.

Cancer of the lining: The one we think of most is called mesothelioma.  Other cancers can affect the pleural surface, however, a primary pleural malignancy would be a mesothelioma.  Hope this helps.

Not Cancer: It means that when the Pathologist looked at your cells under a microscope, there were no cells that were malignant. This indicates that whatever they biopsied is benign and not cancer.
