i am a male (38) and for the past couple of years my nipples are always hard. temperature and arousal aren't factors. no tenderness discharge or anything else atypical. i do take hrt (lowt). i have known other men my age that experience it too?

: Unfortunately, it is not possible to diagnose from a description. You should talk to your Dr about getting an evaluation and a screening mammogram (they are not just for women). This can determine if the tissue is problematic or just due to fluctuating hormones.

i am an 82 year old male. i have been on 5mg. of finasteride for six months and have breast tenderness on one nipple. my doctor told me to stop it and i might have to have a mammogram. could i get breast cancer in six months of taking finasteride?

More likely: Is gynecomastia which is benign breast enlargement and is notoriously happening as fast as few weeks to few months. Breast malignancy cannot be ruled out otherwise without appropriate tests , but is less likely

Knot on the nipple: With discharge, color change , tenderness need to be checked out by her pediatrician. Referral may be made if findings are abnormal. You need to discuss with doctor before worrying too much

Could be worth exam: See your provider for an exam, perhaps a mammogram and depending on the results - decide what to do. It may be nothing at all - but it can be a sign of a cyst or tumor (benign or malignant) - so, start w/ a simple exam. I hope it's nothing or something easy to treat but it's good to know.
