I suggest you observe the area with a mirror  , and watch for any redness or swelling also feel the area and  feel for any increased earth to the touch. If any of these occur than go back to your doctor as soon as possible.

Get a coach, start with low weights/high repetitions, and avoid things that cause severe or sharp pain. Lunges, starting without weight, are great for the gluts/thighs. When doing this, keep the front knee behind the toes

Get a scan: The differential diagnosis would include fat necrosis, partial or full disc herniation, sacrococcygeal mass, cutaneous tumors, and poorly exercised  paraspinal muscles. I suggest you see a physical therapist to have the area evaluated and go from there, if the answer is not simple an MRI may be needed to identify what lies beneath the skin for diagnosis and therapy

Check with MD: Lidocaine will ease the pain but will not aid in wound healing. If wound is clean Vitamin E oil applied 3 x daily will hasten healing.If red or any evidence of pus antibiotic cream will help.When in doubt check with an MD.
