Macrolide: Macrolide can effect can suppress cardiac INa, IKr, IKs, ICa,L and IK1 channels in most people. These channels effect cardiac electrical activity.  The serious side effects of macrolides on the Qtc are under investigation.

Strep throat therapy: Most antibiotics are very effective vs group A Strep -the germ that causes Strep throat. Clarithromycin should be 95% effective or greater. There's a slim chance of resistance (all germs are becoming tougher to kill these days). It may be that the symptoms of pharyngitis are bothering him -so check things like fever, taking fluids etc. Or maybe some side-effects from med-clarithro can cause nausea

Taking MDMA harmful: ON any product. Over 80 kids just hauled away in ambulances at a Boston area concert for MDMA toxicity - probably "Molly," which is either higher dose/higher purity or contains some contaminants that seem especially toxic.  This is really a potentially very dangerous drug, and on clarithromycin may be more so. I urge you to find healthier and less dangerous ways to have a good time.

Stop Biaxin (clarithromycin): And call your doctor. For a rash, stopping it will probably be enough. Remember that you are probably allergic to this drug in the future. Your doctor might want you to take a different drug in a different class for whatever she was treating.

If you get swelling of the lips or tongue or short of breath, though, i'd go to an emergency room now!

Broader spectrum drugs will also kill more natural gut bacteria and are more likely to cause diarrhea.

Yes...but: The short answer is yes.  But you should complete the course of therapy or return to your doctor if you don't tolerate it.  You also run the risk of producing a partially treated resistant bacteria.  Just take your medications as prescribed.  The medications don't work in the bottle on the shelf in your bathroom.  If you aren't going to take them, discard them appropriately.
