Once daily macrobid: usually prescribed for prevention not treatment of UTI, You can try high doses of  probiotics with the twice daily Macrobid to see if you can tolerate. make sure there is a culture and sensitivity done with each and every UTI to make sure you are not developing resistant bacteria in your urinary tract.

Many: This antiseptic has close chemical similarity to diphenylhydantoin (dilantin), a drug with enough side effects to fill an entire textbook.  Taken for brief periods this can be a highly effective agent against simple urinary tract infection, but would advise against long-term usage in most circumstances.

Take the antibiotics: Only go to a doctor you trust and then you do not have to second guess the treatment.  Your doctor recommended appropriate medication.  There is a lot of allergies to the very old drugs you are sugesting which also causes the worst stomach pain imaginable.

Safe, well tolerated: Nitrofurantoin (Macrobid) is a safe antibiotic and side effects are infrequent. If you read the list of possible side effects from almost any drug, it can be frightening. But for most drugs, important problems are uncommon.

No problem: Most of the potential for big problems occurs in the first month or 2 of pregnancy.Most of babies parts are done forming by 12 wks, and little more than finish work and growth remains until delivery.This med is not known to be a problem. Be sure to remind any treating doc you are pregnant because some med choises do matter.

No.: This is used to treat urinary tract infection, primarily e coli.  There are adverse effects, like nausea and vomiting, pulmonary fibrosis and drug induced autoimmune hepatitis.  It is also contraindicated in those with decreased renal function.  It can color the urine brown, which is harmless.  However, an effect on the menstrual cycle is not one of the adverse effects of this drug.
