One disadvantage: I'll defer to  someone else on whether the linx is generally a good alternative to the nissen fundoplication, one note of caution:  people who have the linx device cannot have an mri.  Mri is becoming ever more common for imaging, as there is no radiation and great soft tissue detail.  This could potentially limit the ability to diagnose medical problems in the future.

Study: I am a proponent of following up with the doctor who ordered your study to get an interpretation.  My reasoning is one, they know why it was ordered, they know your clinical story and two they both have access to the radiologist who read it to discuss it and that little thing at the bottom of the report which says clinical impression.
