i am having laser tattoo removal on the back of my neck. i had my first session two weeks ago , its healing very well however i noticed a round hard painful lump at the base of my skull back of neck. swollen lymph node??

: You are likely correct. Any disturbance of the skin surface as would be in tattoo removal may trigger enlargement of local nodes that can persist for a few weeks.

my upper gums and teeth are bleeding since one year and dr says it is normal my gums are sensitive and i am developing permanent swollen lymph nodes under my jaw that is movable. is this bleeding cause those swollen nodes?

: Bleeding gingiva = inflammation. Over the long run, inflammation can result in periodontal disease and loss of teeth. It may be wise to see a periodontist (gum specialist) in your area for a second opinion.

Sort of: You have lymph nodes in your axilla ( armpit) but nope in the shoulder joint or directly surrounding the joint.

No: While it is unclear why the ln is being removed, usually the ln itself is a self contained lump of tissue that is generally removed as a whole ln.  On occasion, if too large or fragile, it can be removed in pieces, but for purposes of diagnosing pathology, a piece is as good as the whole.  For cancer purposes, if a tumor has spread to the ln, it doesn't really matter if is it taken out whole.

Infection: Usually a sore throat or tonsillitis can cause lymph nodes to swell. Inflammation of the parotid glands also can cause this. Best to see your physician for a thorough physical exam.

what is necrotic lymph node?

It depends on when a: How did you know or find out about this probelm? Is it seen on a ct scan? Why do not you ask the doctor who told you about it! if the lymph node is enlarged(?Cause is important here!) then it can have dead cells in the middle of the gland. That is what necrosis/necrotic means. But it is important to find out the cause which may need a biopsy. Your doctor should guide you.

Lymph Nodes: Not really.  They may become tender though in inflammatory states or when a patient is sick with infection.

Not poppable: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Part of immunity: Lymph nodes are an essential part of our immune system.  They not only generate precursor cells to what is termed "fixed tissue immune" processes, but they aid in formation of antibodies, they help fight any foreign materials in our body and they may be helpful in fighting certain tumors.  We have a very complex and effective system to help combat disease and they are a big part.
