i had a lumpectomy and removal of 6 lymph nodes in 2003.  

due to an accident i have to use crutches.  is there a danger of lympodemia occurin?

Unlikely: If you didn't develop any lymph edema thusfar as a result of surgery, node dissection or radiation and its been almost ten years, it is likely that your lymphatic channels are open and healed.  There is scarring as a result of your treatments.  U could increase padding on the top of that arms crutch. You could seek out a lymph edema clinic for discussion of compression sleeves or massage technique.

i am a 32 year old female, diagnosed with lymphodemia several years ago. me and my husband are planning to fall pregnant and we want to find out about the health implications for me due to this? will also appreciate a referral to a specialist.

Lymphoedema: Generally unless due to an underlying medical cause doesn't affect fertility but swelling and therefore skin infection risk might be accentuated by pregnancy.  In terms of referral to a specialist not possible through this website which is here for general information.  For referral and specific medical advice here recommend see your GP as a start.

Swelling will return: If you remove your elastic band or sleeve from the affected area it is likely that the swelling from lymphedema will return and the symptoms associated with it.

Epidemic Typhus: Rickettsia prowazekii only replicate within host cells.

Too soon: The symptoms of a new HIV infection (acute retroviral syndrome, or ARS) don't start before about 10 days. Maybe sometimes as soon as 7 days, but 3 days isn't possible. Also, as you apparently know, ARS usually includes sore throat, so that's also against HIV as the cause. It's something else. These symptoms are indeed consistent with malaria or typhoid, but also many other infections. See doctor.

Many possibilities: The combination of enlarged spleen and internal lymph nodes could be any of several infections (mononucleosis, syphilis, HIV, and several others, of course depeding on risk); inflammatory conditions like sarcoidosis; various malignancies like lymphoma; and more. The doctor(s) who have been evaluating this problem and requested the CT scan are the only ones who can answer accurately. Good luck.

Hepatitis: This is acute hepatitis due to a virus or medicine until proved otherwise, and with the high white cells he needs a good history and physical exam as well.

how deadly is west nile virus untreated?

Only 1% have severe: sx. Most people don’t have sx’s w West Nile virus. Mild sx’s occur in about 20% of people;  which can include fever, eye pain, generalized body aches, headaches, feeling really tired, &amp; possible enlarged lymph nodes or rash. About 1% have severe illness which can include neurologic problems. Possible sx’s include: seizures, severe headache w stiffness of  neck, high fever, confusion &amp; weakness.
