: Diagnosing Lyme disease is quite complex. In North America, Lyme is uncommon this time of year. Positive IgM antibody for Borrelia burdorferi (the cause of Lyme) can help in diagnosis, but isn't the only test. Unless her doctors are highly experienced with Lyme, ask for consultation with an infectious diseases specialist. Good luck to her.

Possibly- more tests: A 41 band alone could signify lyme but is not enough to make the diagnosis. Unfortunately most labs don't do an adequate WB test- it's crucial to test the highly specific 31 & 34 bands & most labs don't. Ignenex does the best test.
