Diet, exercise, meds: The first step is to change the structure of your eating. Rather than 3 large meals, you should be eating multiple small meals. In fact, you should really eat a small amount every 2 hours. Grazing like the animals. Because every time you eat, it spikes your metabolism. Adding that framework will put you on the fast track to weight loss. Add regular walking and frequent water too.

Time for workup : I wouldn't attribute significant passive weight loss to anything simple or benign.I would get in for a workup with your physician within the next 10 days & see if there is something fixable going on.

Hmm...: You do have a good question, as if you feel stable and are controlled on the current dose, you may not need to be increased.  The dr. however may know others that feel you mod is not quite stable, even though you feel it is, or through an examination and therapy sessions may feel you are still able to improve further, thus the reason for increasing.  Ask the Dr. and let them know your concerns.

Alternative drug?: May use a "steroid sparing drug" to decrease the need of steroid, in sarcoidosis of the nervous system Hydroxychloroquine  (plaquenil) works best. Steroids make you gain mostly by increasing appetite and making you lazy and slugish, both can be helped , to a certain extent, by will power and vanity!

i have lam disease & get out of breath when exerting myself. i have a pulse ox at home & it drops to mid 80's. at what point do i need to be on o2?

Maybe now: Patients whose oxygen levels drop with exertion to < 88% may benefit from oxygen to increase exertion tolerance.
