: If Lupron is given to suspend ovarian function, the resulting diminished estrogen will immediately have an effect on the growth of "fibroids", and effective reduction of size will then depend on the size of the fibroids when Lupron therapy was started.  There are other methods to "shrink" fibroid tumors, such as embolization therapy. Consult your GYN physician for guidance.

Maybe...but unsure.: Supprelin la (histrelin) is a Histrelin Acetate implant; whereas Lupron depot is a Leuprolide Acetate suspension. Obviously there is worthwhile concern on your part about this alternative therapy for central precocious puberty in that both medications act to suppress development of puberty artificially. : With heavy bleeding this combination should be ok.  Tranexamic acid carries a low risk of deep vein thrombosis, so benefit and risk have to be considered.

Safe up to 55 lbs wt: Central precocious puberty requires both early development of both pubic hair + breast development. Should be safe for girls weighing up to 55 lbs. Should be given regularly every 28 days. Consider 2nd opinion if daughter is older than age-8-years.

: Taking "depot Lupron" for endometriosis will arrest progression of this disease, and reduce instances of infertility. Continuous low dose oral bcp's are usually prescribed in cases of endometriosis, which essentially will provide similar protection for preservation of fertility.  If pregnancy is desired, a prior hysterosalpingogram (HSG)  may ascertain tubal patency.

Usually Mild: When i treat patients with Depo-Provera Lupron (leuprolide) (for instance for endometriosis) i usual;y use add back therapy, this is a second medicine used to prevent the side effects from lupron (leuprolide). The addback usually reduces or gets rid of any hot flashes, any vaginal dryness, or any mood swings. So in this way i usually prevent side effects from ever occurring.

Consult your doctor: For precocious puberty, the 11.25 mg Lupron (leuprolide) every 3 months is sufficient 90-95% of the time. If her breasts are getting bigger or she continues to grow too rapidly, your daughter's ped endo might consider giving the Lupron (leuprolide) every 2 months but it is usually not necessary to give it more often as it is designed to be released slowly enough to last 3 months
