my ribs hurt when being poked or pressed on. i feel tiny little lumps under the skin all over my ribs. i am overweight what could this be?

One or both sides?: If this has been present for less than a few days and confined to only one half of the body, then you may be getting shingles which will soon erupt as painful lesions.  On the other hand, trauma to or fracture of the ribs can cause pain as well. If the problem is intolerable, see your doctor. Has NSAID been helpful?

i have developed several rubbery lumps just under the skin -  over time. they do not hurt and seem to stay same size - have not seen doctor, should i?

Lipomas: These are most likely benign fatty growths. Normally, our fat grows in a sheet - a layer that keeps us insulated from cold & trauma, and it's also a source of energy storage. Occasionally, this fatty layer may develop a swirl of fat in it that you can feel. It can be like an m&m or a marble, or even a cluster of marbles. You really don't need to do anything with them unless they are bothering you.

i have two lumps next to each other in my left armpit, under the skin, no head pea size and they really hurt  should i be concerned?

Have them checked: Tender axillary nodes can be a sign of infection such as a virus but if they are only on one side, you need to see a doctor to rule a more serious cause, .

Have to be there!: Lumps on the scalp are often sabaceous cysts: they grow from blocked glands that produce oil or sweat. They are problematic when they bother the person -or when they become infected. These can be removed by a doctor. Soft lumps may be lipomas: fatty growths. I would encourage you not to squeeze or otherwise try to remove these on your own, though. Have your wife's doctor evaluate her. Lgromkomd.

are the lumps in my legs fatty tumors or what? i have several lumps/bumps under the skin around my upper thigh area.  one is near my panty line, it is about the size of the tip of my thumb and hard but does not hurt.  it's been there probably 8 or 9 years

Fatty : Fatty tumors (or lipomas) are usually not hard. They are usually soft and squishy. If you  have a hard mass along your lower panty line that could be a chronically inflammed inguinal lymph node.  Can't determine what they are through this venu. Recommend that a family doctor or dermatologist examine you and determine what the lesions are.

Infected hair root: This is likely just a hair root that has been invaded by skin germs. A warm compress may bring it to a head to drain. If it persists or begins to extend to other areas have it looked at. It may need more involved treatment.
