See doctor: Did you recently suffer head trauma or a blow to the head in anyway? Has this been developing for some time or is it brand-new and it's onset? Do you have a history of headaches which preceded the lump on your head or vice versa? A physician should examine you and order at least an x-ray of the skull if the bump is felt to be something other than the skull itself.

what to do if i have a lump on the left back of my head, around the top of my neck, should i be worried?

Depends: Need to see your doctor. If it is a cyst maybe left alone or excised. If a lymph node made need antibiotics and if no improvement will need to be biopsied to make sure you don;t have a cancer.

Less worrisome: if the pain is intermittent.  The lump could be a variety of things, but may require an exam to determine for sure what it is. 
Have your doctor take a look.

Emergency room.: Anytime someone has an unexplained sudden onset of headache which seems abnormally severe, it is important to get checked out right away. It may turn out to be an unimportant cause, but you don't want to miss it if it's not. Go right away. Good luck.

Yes: Anatomically we see ourselves as symmetric but we are not. One foot may be larger, one hand may be larger and one epididymis may be larger. Perhaps it is on the bottom of the missing one.....

about 10 yrs ago i was at my brothers and tripped over a garage step and hit my head hard, could that be the reason why im getting constant headaches today?or is it cause of a lump i have on top of the left side of my forehead? im getting it checked?

: 10 years is a rather long time but dose not exclude a contained sub-dural bleed that can be the cause of the headache. Also the fall may have aggravated your upper cervical spine causing headaches as well. The bump that you have should cause localized headache. I am glad that you are getting this checked out

Swollen lymph now : Probably swollen lymph.  are you still recently sick? Have you had any fever?  Recommend seeing your doctor if it's getting bigger. Abscess can also be possible.

Evaluation: Difficult to assess by your description. But any mass, with or without pain, should be evaluated.  By your description it sounds like its involving a nerve.
