Elbow lump: Can be many things and as simple as a fat pad or lipoma or a cyst from the joint.

Nonspecific finding: The cause of the lump remains unclear without information regarding the borders and echo texture of the lesion. Whether there are calcifications and the pattern of blood flow are also important. 
The fact there is flow in the lesion excludes some diagnoses but there are still many possibilities. Other modalities like MRI may also provide info.

5cm hard lump removed near elbow thought originally to be inflammatory. sent to pathology, should i be worried. no one saying what it could be....

Wait for results: Without a bit of history and location, it is difficult to speculate on the cause - possibly an enlarged lymph node, an inflammed bursa, or a fatty tumor.  Since the specimen was sent to a pathologist, you should receive notification by the surgeon who removed it about the findings.  This should not take more than a week, so you are better off waiting than speculating.

Possible lipomas: ( soft tissue benign fatty tumors) or ganglion cysts. You must be seen and examined.

Unlikely: Fat necrosis is one of the common causes of a nodule in the skin after trauma.  Cancer usually does not develop within weeks, so that seems unlikely.  Was it possible there was lump there before, and you only notice it now after the injury?  Without an age, there are some other possibilities that could be seen: gout, arthritis, etc.

Usually benign: The most common solid lesions of the upper extremety are benign.  If soft, consider a lipomatous growth.  If firm benign fibromas can occur but one must think of MFH or a malignant fibrous tumor.  The presence of blood supply is hard to define without angiography. If this has recently been noted and growing, then biopsy is indicated to determine method of management.

Elbow lump: Not enough information.  Swelling could be a swollen bursa or an inflamed lymph node among other causes.

Ans: Well many possibilities. Need a better history. Such as. Did the just appear?  How long have they been there?  Any change in size or shape?  Tender or hot?  Any underlying medical issues for you?  You should see your doctor for a good exam and then go from there.

CYSTS ARE NOT CANCER: If MRI and ultrasound are normal and doctor said it is not cyst/cancer than you do not have to worry, it is not cancer
cysts are lumps filled with gelatinous substances and can be left alone and cause no problem, but these lumps can be surgically removed .Any general surgeon can do it
but if it is not even cyst than you leave it alone and follow your docs advice.

a male has a golf size lump on arm near elbow. can it be a hernia?

Not a hernia: A mass near the elbow may be a lipoma ( benign fat tumor) , a cyst ( benign skin lesion), or rarely an enlarged lymph node, or other rare tumors.  A hernia can only occur from a hollow body cavity, the chest or abdomen.
