Need more info?: Most lumps in chest in young males are benign.  If painless, mobile, rubbery, it is likely a lipoma.  If more like water balloon, with central pore, it is more likely a sebacious/epidermal cyst.  If hard/fixed or tender lump, get it evaluated. Take Care!

Different options: The chest has a lot of things in it both in the skin and below it.  Sweat glands, hair follicles and skin cysts as well as lymph nodes, fatty tissue, breast tissue and other things.  Is the lump growing, inflamed, painful, painless, draining, recurrent or constant, moveable or fixed...?  Each of these (and many more) will provide your doc the answers as to what it is and what needs to be done.

A lot of things: Lumps can be benign ranging from fatty tumors called lipomas to something more serious including malignant tumors (cancer).  Until it is removed and examined with a microscope, it is unlikely to provide a definite answer.  Please see your doctor.

Hard bump: It may be an epidermal inclusion cyst . They are firm and moveable just below the skin. If it is enlarging or painful see a dermatologist.

Hello. : Hello. What you are describing might be a subclavicular lymph node. If you were a heavy smoker, with other health problems, it could sometimes be enlarged with lung cancer.  However, you are not listing those type of things. However, i would recommend that you get it checked out. Lymph nodes drain germs, dead white blood cells and gunk from areas of inflammation or infection.  On the other hand, it you have had clavicular injury in the past, it could be due to that.

3 months after a surgeon carried out a mestectomy on me there is still a mildly painful lump in my chest. should i go see a different doctor?

Not really: It may be a cyst, localized abscess or other cause. I would urge you to see the original surgeon for this post-op matter.

Might be lipomas: Lipomas are common lumps that are often found on the arms, legs, or trunk. They are usually soft, and movable. But it's impossible to diagnose a lump without evaluating it in person. Talk to your doctor to get more information.
