Exam needed: A doctor needs to examine you. A common cause for what you describe is a fludi filled sac called a spermatocele, although that is rarely seen at your age. You are 18 so you may be feeling normal anatomy too such as the head of the epididymis.

The "bag of strings": comment suggests what you are feeling, I believe.  The epididymis is a coiled tube at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm. Depending on location and position, it can be felt. It can become infected, including by sexually transmitted infections, when it is then swollen and tender.  From your description, I believe you are feeling a normal structure. Stay well:)
