Lymph nodes?: Painful bumps behind the knee could be lymph nodes, which generally appear in response to local inflammation or infection, below that knee for example, like in the shin, calf or foot.  If there's no infection or inflammation evident, or if they've been there for more than two weeks, you need to see a local doctor for an evaluation.

fell on my knee yesterday, skinned it good  but there is also a lump behind the wound...never had that before is this normal?

Yes, bruise: Totally normal. Ice it, wrap it with an ace bandage, take a motrin.

Baker's cyst: Have you had them for a while? See your doctor or a sports medicine or an orthopedic surgeon for this. You might need either injection or physical therapy or even surgery, depending on how they respond to initial treatment.  Meanwhile, you could take some ibuprofen or naproxen (if no allergy) and do icing and compression wrap.

Ortho Evan needed : An orthoapedic examination will help uncover why your knee is painful and swollen. The most common reason is a posterior horn Meniscal tear with secondary formation of a Baker’s cyst. When the knee makes fluid do to injury or arthritis, the fluid often tracks to the back of the knee where the capsule is softer and more pliant allowing the formation of the cyst. I recommend Radiographs &amp; exam.

Baker's Cyst: He probably has a baker's cyst of the knee.  This is an outpouching of the capsule of the knee.  More sever problems could be a clot, an aneurysm, a tumor or just some localized swelling and edma fluid.  Rest and observation usually take care of this.  Otherwise, see pcp or orthopedist and get an evaluation.

A medical consultation will include a physical exam and imaging to determine to exact cause and possibility for removal if bothersome

What happened first?: What happened before the lumps appeared? Were you stung/bitten by an insect? Had you rubbed against some plants/weeds?  We need more information to provide the best answer. Possibly using topical Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or taking zyrtec/benadryl/claritin by mouth will resolve issue, but fp should see lumps & get complete history.
