i have a lump on back of neck. discomforting & hurts at touch  ?

Possible abscess: Most likely an abscess( an area of infection that can develop into ball of pus), secondary to an infected cyst or hair follicle, usually fairly painful, swollen, warm , red most of time along with an area that might be yellow-gold.
Fairly common Initially treated with warm compresses( towel soaked in warm water) for 10-15 minutes- 2-3X/day.
If no better, see doctor for possible drainage  + meds.

have small lump on back of neck. it hurts and i think has a lot to do with my migraines. any ideas/advice on what to do??

Consult PCP: Small lump on back of neck is highly unusual for migraine; it is possible that the lump on neck could cause pain in the head.  You should consult your PCP to get it checked out.

Carbuncle: It could be a staph infection, insect bite, boil, or sebaceous cyst due to a blocked sweat gland. I would have it evaluated by your primary care physician.

Lump: without exam would be hard to figure out.  You should see your physician to have it examined.  Could be lymph node but without seeing it and doing an exam would be impossible to diagnose.

Many: I lump on the side of the neck can be several things in abscess assist inflamed lymph node or rarely a cancer. This requires an in person valuation with the doctor to determine what it is

: Your son just has a neck pain with spasm, lymphoma does not manifest that way, take care yourself.

Possibly lymph node: This could be from an insect bite, a lymph node or a small abscess in a hair follicle.  Apply heat and give it a couple of days. If it doesn't go away, or gets worse, have a doctor take a look.

Swollen lymph now : Probably swollen lymph.  are you still recently sick? Have you had any fever?  Recommend seeing your doctor if it's getting bigger. Abscess can also be possible.

i have a soft lump between c7 and t1. it's more disc shaped than round. i can only feel it when i tilt my head up with chin up. it moves if i apply pressure while tilting back. i had neck pain a few weeks ago but is mostly resolved. what can it be?
