Abscess vs cyst: You may be describing sebaceous cyst, ingrown hair or even an abscess (pus pocket). Best to see your Family Doc for examination, diagnosis &amp; treatment. S/he may lance (drain) it if it feels full of fluid. Less likely to be lipoma which are benign but don't usually double in size overnight.

i have attached images of the scan. the lump on my right side under rib cage is getting worse and i am in excruciating pain all the time. ?

Lump: Has a physician examined you to determine what the lump is?  Possibilities include inflamed gall bladder, hernia, intraabdominal or liver growth or rib pathology. I recommend  a consultation with an abdominal surgeon for a second opinion if you've already been seen by a physician.

See her doctor: It's hard to say what this could be without seeing it. She should see her doctor so they can find out what is causing the lump-whether it is outside of the abdomen or inside the abdomen, .

Lipoma: It is more likely that the soft lump in your skin is a fat tumor called lipoma. However, if the area becomes sore , reddened or growing , have it evaluated.

Could be normal: It is most likely normal breast development that adolescent males get while going through puberty. It usually resolves or you may get the same "lump " in the other breast, before both sides resolve. Cancer of the breast is rare at 16 y. See a  doctor to physically exam the lump if it continues to bother you.

Rib evaluation. I is: If you had a previous trauma at that site like a fractured rib then it may be just a healing fracture. If there has been no trauma and you have a painful lump then this should be seen by a doctor fairly soon. Any painful growth on a bone has to be looked at and evaluated.

Inclusion cyst?: Hard to tell a lump since there are many underlying causes.  Have your primary or a dermatologist take a look further.  Typically an inclusion or fatty cysts can be present as well w/o pain.

Skin and bones.: It is important to know if the lumps are on or part of the ribs or in the soft tissues over the ribs or in the cartilage portion of the rib.  Calcinosis (abnormal calcifications) that can occur around bone, joints, and even soft tissues due to diseases or just from benign processes or old injury.  See your doctor about this.

May be a Lipoma: From your description it may be a lipoma.Which is a benign fatty tumor.But it needs to be checked to be sure what it may be
