what is a non-displaced subacute fracture through remnant of l4 spinous process.callus is developing?

Not worrisome: probably not a worry unless its below lamina and may start to compress the collection of nerve rootlets below it over time - sounds like you had a trauma in the past, there was a small fracture of the spinous process (which in and of itself might be painful for a few weeks but likely will heal and come to nothing)  and now the healing is leading to some bone formation in the vicinity

for the vertiflex procedure i read spacer can move,bone may settle around implant & the spinous process can fracture when the ipd spacer is implanted.this is suppose to be less invasive than laminectomy but sounds worrisome?

: I would only have this procedure performed by a clinic or group with a lot of experience in selecting patients who are good candidates for it and a great track record in doing the procedure.

i have a vertical spinous process fracture on l2 that was just discovered on ct 7 weeks after initial gymnastics injury. pain has not improved and dr. has not found a brace to immobilize. is there a brace to immobilize, and could that help healing?

Tlso: The brace that would best mobilize that area is known as a rigid tlso.  It could potentially help the fracture heal quicker than if no brace is used.

~8 wks.: Transverse process fractures of vertebrae take 8 wks and occ. Longer to heal. As long as there is no other fractures in the vertebrae( and these are commonly isolated fxs) than they routinely heal uneventfully and w/ minimal treatment( bracing/ pain med). See your md; these fractures are sometimes associated w/ internal organ injuries when signifigant trauma is involved. Gl!

Transverse: Transverse process fractures can cause pain and without any other injury to the bones and ligaments to the spine, they heal on their own.

five months since i suffered a transverse process fracture.  now i have stinging pains in my upper butt and lower back.  what is this and treatment ?

Possibly a sciatica: A sciatica is caused by an irritation of a nerve in the back that then can cause pain that runs into the buttock like you are describing.  There are also potentially other causes as well.  Usually a detailed history and exam can determine the cause, an MRI can be very helpful.    Thank you for your question.

Sciatica: This is sciatica due to compression of a nerve root in the lower back. Have the issue evaluated. It is very treatable.

It means that: it will not move around and cause further damage.  It also means that it will heal given enough time.  Most important thing is to prevent recurrence by avoiding activity that caused the injury and strengthening your bones.
