~8 wks.: Transverse process fractures of vertebrae take 8 wks and occ. Longer to heal. As long as there is no other fractures in the vertebrae( and these are commonly isolated fxs) than they routinely heal uneventfully and w/ minimal treatment( bracing/ pain med). See your md; these fractures are sometimes associated w/ internal organ injuries when signifigant trauma is involved. Gl!

8-12 weeks: Fortunately, surgery is not needed for this fracture. They usually heal in 8-12 weeks. Good luck.
