i got a cervical, lumbar & thoracic painblock wednesday.how long should it take before the pain goes away. discomfort is more than before the time. my neck is very stiff and my lower back hurts horribly. using ice packs, coxleon & tamoltra. have as. ?

Spinal pain : ankylosing spondylitis is not common, it causes morning dull low back pain for long periods of time, it is not consistent short term spinal pain.  Most spinal pain goes away within 4 weeks and will benefit from physical therapy or chiropractic care. To get a more specific answer to your concern you will need to see a doctor in person.

any suggestions for traveling with lower back problems? i'm taking a long flight this weekend. i know pack light, rolling bags, stay active. others?

Some remedies: Here a few things which usually help: 1. Get up often and walk the aisles (sitting still increases biomechanical stress on the interspinal discs) 2. Wear a lumbar brace (low profile lumbar support)  3. Drink one or two beers - the hops is a natural muscle relaxer and the alcohol helps with the pain 4. Have your doctor prescribe a few pills of 5mg valium to take when pain/cramping gets really bad.

ICE  HEAT AND TIME: So ice the first 24-48 hours then heat. If you can tolerate Ibuprofen you can take this after food. Possible massage.

i have lower back pain only when walking slowly.if walking fast, even with a heavy pack over rough terrain, i dont have any pain. how can i fix this?

Pains : It is unfortunate that you are going through this .As you know a stroke can affect muscle strength on one side of the body. When doing everyday tasks after a stroke the body compensates and muscle can strain and joints can get inflamed. This may be helped with physical therapy.

YEARS: A fall on your bum can cause anything from simple bruise to subclinical (not well-perceived) problems like coccyx/sacral fracture, sacroiliac or pelvic displacement, lumbar disc inj., single/multiple nerve inflammation;any of which can take days/yrs to manifest.A good history &amp; physical incl. an osteopathic hands-on exam may find problem.Manipulation may fix it, if other tests/treatment not needed

This can be a normal: Symptom pre menstrual in some.   Pain in the spine is typically related to an inflammatory issue and girls tend to retain water with start of menstruation.  So if soft tissue response is increased swelling as a sign of inflammation, this could explain why you have the pain at that time

i was prescribed valium 5 mg, vicodin 5-325, and methylprednisolone pack for a lower back injury.  is it safe to take these all at once before bed?
