Obesity also can be a factor and sedentary  life style  with age, there is an increased incidence due to disc aging.

Back or neck pain: Back or neck pain with associated leg or arm pain respectively. Pain may be associated with numbness or tingling.   Changing positions of the back or neck may increase or decrease the pain in the extremity.
