Normal limits: Propranolol itself can lower blood pressure significantly. A diastolic pressure of 66 is still acceptable and would cause no problems. Mitral valve prolapse may cause disturbances in the heart rhythm but not the blood pressure as a rule.

Consider starting med then taking it away as lifestyle improves.

Blood pressure: Hi, as long as ur blood pressure is less than 140/90 and u exercise and watch ur diet and salt intake you should be fine. our blood pressure usually fluctuates depending on how much physical activity we are doing.

Diastolic BP: There are no antihypertensive medications that only target the diastolic BP. If you require medication to treat hypertension, avoid dropping the diastolic bp under 60. In your case, I recommend starting a very low dose diuretic or an ACE inhibitor but take it in the morning after being up and about. Follow-up with your MD and continue home bp monitoring. Don't take bp meds in the afternoon.

Prob normal for you: There are some red flags associated with a low diastolic blood pressure in older people (may mean arteries are stiffer, or taking too much of an anti--hypertensive drug(s), but in a young male such as yourself, it is likely normal. Especially since your systolic blood pressure, while normal, is on the low side, too. Unless you have symptoms such as dizziness/light-headedness, I would not worry:)
