Scoliosis: Most likely cause might be idiopathic scoliosis
That would cause the asymmetry without pain or an
injuiry
Id start with an exam and xray and go from there

Why the distress?: is your child growing and developing normally?  Is he happy and playful?  The rib issue may change over time as he grows.  The sweating at night doesn't mean anything without any other symptoms or physical findings. If your doctor isn't concerned, why do you not believe him or her?

If: Follow ur doctors advice. Rib fractures usually heal by the self however risk of pneumothoroax is present.

Yes: Your body is not perfectly symmetrical. There will be differences from side to side. Most notable are breasts. If there is no pain or problems with it then there is no reason for concern.

Weight change?
Chest x-rays and evaluation are appropriate.
Variation is not uncommon but want to be sure no other issues.

Possibly: Yes, but generally it would take a fairly significant scoliotic curve to see that.  Scoliosis can cause not only curvature of the spine in the frontal plane, but also rotation of the vertebra, which can result in rib asymmetry like you have described.  Alternatively, your ribcage may have been just built that way.

Enema time.: Administrate an enema hold if in lying for a few then try to pass stool. Add MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to make stool more soft so you can pass it.
