See GI doc: A number of things could cause these symptoms. A meckel's diverticulum comes to  mind. This is an abnormal area in the intestine that occurs during fetal development. It can cause symptoms that come and go, including pain and GI bleeding. A doctor who specializes in the digestive tract (gastroenterologist) might be the right person to figure out what's going on. Ask your provider to refer you!

what are the contradictions to iron supplement in an 85 year old female with history of lower gi bleed and when is it indicated for chronic anemia?

Probably none: Probably none, however it may mask the occurence of another GI bleed. If you have a chronic anemia due to age and absorption problems, i feel it is appropriate for you to continue with the iron supplement. You must see your doctor at least annually to be tested for any evidence of blleding from your GI tract.

Many: Throwing up blood (hematemesis), passing blood through the rectum (hematochezia) are the most obvious.  Black, tarry stools can be an indication of less dramatic blood loss.  Pale skin and general weakness are the symptoms of anemia, which is a low red blood cell count associated with loss of hemoglobin as a result of chronic low grade GI bleed.

Iron deficiency: Yes an occult gi bleed usually manifests itself as chronic iron deficiency. An upper endoscopy and colonoscopy +/- pillcam is usually needed.

You need: To see a GI doctor or colorectal surgeon, sooner rather than later before it becomes a life threatening emergency! this does not seem like something you should wait on for a few days to "see if it gets better". If necessary go to the nearest emergency room! take this situation very seriously.

: While usually cancer symptoms persist and worsen in time, there are times when they improve temporarily either because of treatment or because of natural processes, such as having a bowel movement when partially obstructed, cramps may resolve for a while. Not a reliable diagnostic or activity sign otherwise.

Unfortunately : Unfortunately the description of your symptoms does not allow me to provide a very educated suggestion as to the cause of your problems. In particular, your description of burning sensation and twitching are not specific.  In order to provide a more logical path to working out the cause of your complaints, one would want to know about the nature of your burning (characterize it, where it is, is it associated with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, distention, weight loss?  What makes it better and what makes it worse?  With regards to the twitching, what is twitching, are these uncontrolled movements?  Does it come and go?  Do you have and other medical history that is pertinent to understanding your problem?

I cannot think of a scenario where these symptoms would be connected to blood in the stool as a unifying condition.  There are many causes for stool in the blood, hemorrhoids, anal fissure, ulcerative colitis, ischemic colitis, infectious diarrhea, colon polyps, colon cancer, vascular abnormalities and diverticulosis.  Characterizing the nature of the blood in the stools may be helpful in determining the cause. In addition, information such as amount, if it has happened before, if there is a family history of colon cancer, your age, other medical conditions, are also important. If you have a strong family history of colon cancer, or if you are 50 years of age or older, you should have colonoscopy screening for colorectal cancer and continuing until age 75 years. To assess your risk for colon cancer, you can use several tools on-line, such as the one from the cleveland clinic (http://digestive.Ccf.Org/scores/go).

Depends: You will not know if there is a slow, mild bleed. A persistent slow bleed may cause anemia. A large bleed will produce bloody stool, fainting, weakness and pallor. If you have any doubt do a fecal occult blood test, better yet, see a doctor.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.
