Pins and needles : Several things come to mind, nerve inflammation from the neck, compression of nerves around the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, or pectoralis muscles. Circulation issues can cause this but not as common as nerve issues. I am not providing you advice, because I can't evaluate you, but most of the time these issues get better with physical therapy and only after knowing what is the problem.

can carpel tunnel cause both hands to turn freezing cold? i have been having my arms at night fall asleep and get the pins and needles and numb feeling in both arms. for the last week my hands ache they feel almost swollen like and my sensation in my fing

Accepted Answer

Nerves : Nerves control blood flow, so your symptoms are consistent with carpal tunnel syndrome, which is a stuctural, geneticly mediated (you were programmed to get it at birth) compression of the nerve.  Swelling (e.g. With pregnancy) can bring out more symptoms, but does not cause the problem.  I'm not aware the contraceptives cause symptoms.

i experience pins and needles in my left arm especially thumb and 1st three fingers during sleep. i have had asdf surgery two years. what can i do?

Follow up needed: In light of recent ACDF procedure, you new onset syndrome suggests possible nerve compression again in the cervical spine.  A follow up visit with your surgeon is warranted to figure out causes.

to a pinched or inflamed nerve from the
cervical spine which radiates down the arms
it's important to differentiate whether the etiology is cervical or peripheral such as the
carpal tunnel region.
The weakness and back pain are possibly
muscular issues which need to be evaluated
and addressed.

Episode: Upper back discomfort with radiation of symptoms down the arms can be a cardiac problem but symptoms lasting only seconds make your episode unlikely to be of cardiac origin. Recurrent tingling in feet an legs may be due to a demyelinating disorder like multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy(B12 deficiency, diabetes, alcohol excess) or to deficiencies of calcium or magnesium.?neurologist seen.

Hard to say: It is hard to interpret what a 2.5 yo means when they describe anything. This could be overuse fatigue, trauma related or something else. Try to tease out a better understanding of what she is talking about. Their vocabulary is building but not as specific or descriptive as it will be later.

...developing some..: Sounds like one is developing some form of Neuropathy (Peripheral). Nutritional, especially Vitamin deficiency- tend to cause these symptoms. But one should also have Doctor check for Diabetes or other Metabolic Disorders. Meanwhile some high level B-Complex vitamins could be added to diet.

Unusual presentation: That is an unusual presentation for cancer, but you should have a work up for other focal or systemic causes of numbness/tingling.  Cause can range from bad positioning to vitamin deficiencies to general neuropathic to arthritis in the spine. After a general eval, your primary care doc can point you in the right direction.
