Facet arthropathy: Thank you for your question.  There are many potential causes of back pain.  Among the more common causes of unilateral back pain are sacro-iliac joint problems, fact arthropathy, and spianl stenosis.  Usually an exam and appropraite sudies can find the cause of your pain.

lower back pain on one side or the other. sometimes seems worse when i drink caffeine. what do you think this is? sometimes it radiates to my side.

Need more info: With given info sounds like possible lumbar radiculopathy with pinch nerve from potential several things bulging disc facet arthritis, sciatica, etc.. Suggest to discuss with your PCP for thorough lower back/ pelvis and neurologic exam follow by MRI if injection or surgery is indicated.

Musculoskeletal: It is much more likely that your unilateral back pain has a musculoskeletal cause, such as degenerative disc, facet joint arthropathy, si joint pathology, herniated disc, pinched nerve, etc - rather than being related to menstruation.  However, if your symptoms persist you should see a physician for evaluation.

Few days: Are we sure the kidney stone passed.Is so there can be spasms of the ureter for a few days.Ask for tamulosin(Flomax) that will help .

Dysautonomia: Injury to the outflow tract of the sympathetic nervous system in the brain stem or cervical / thoracic cord can result in altered sweating, and altered regulation in blood flow on one side of the body. This, however, occurs rarely in isolation

ive had one sided lower back pain for 8 months. sometimes it gets easier, sometimes worse. bending over hurts. the muscles feel tense too. started suddenly as a sharp pain when bending over. the pain isnt bad but its annoying. what could this be?

: Massaging the muscles may help over a period of time. It may be that you have a curved spine or posturally strained the muscle group.

See your physician.: Low back pain is a common complaint. When associated with other symptoms, it may be a good idea to talk to your physician to see if an imaging study like an MRI would be appropriate.

See a physician: The fever and nausea make this case more than just garden variety back pain.  I would definitely recommend seeing a physician for further evaluation.

my tummy seems more bloated on one side than the other. also have hip/lower back pain which comes and goes, is this normal?

Not normal not clear: if the symptoms make you feel uncomfortable know this is not normal. You need to have your physician have you see a gastroenterologist, and possibly a back specialist. If these fit together  they will be able to tie the knot
