Yes: All these are also markers of inflammation and thus often associated with autoimmune diseases as well.

Go back to doctor: Without knowing why you are on steroids or what your overall diagnostic parameters were it is impossible to make suggestions.  The WBC itself is not disturbing, but would need to see the differential.   On steroids there is generally a measured increase in the total neutrophil count, not because they are really increased, but because they are being released from binding to walls of blood vessels.

Means nothing alone: As a pathologist who's devoted a lifetime to lab medicine, my teammates and i are always reminding people that lab results mean nothing whatever in the absence of a history & physical exam. Please don't take this the wrong way, and i appreciate your proactive approach to health. But no one can do anything with this. Ask instead, "could high Albumin out-of-range be from dehydration?" etc.

Complicated: When i was doing clinical medicine, these were collectively sort of the flags for sarcoid disease but I am not saying that's the case here. This is because sarcoid is a diagnosis of exclusion so the advice is to rule out other diseases with additional diagnostic tests which can be done by a primary care physician or rheumatologist.

Make diagnosis: Those are a lot of things and they may or may not all be connected.  Certainly with an elevated sed rate and a positiveana test are concerning for  an autoimmune condition, such as lupus, would be a concern.  I would encourage you to continue work up with a rheumatologist and ultimately the single or multiple diagnosis made will aid in treatment and prognosis discussions.  Thank you.

Nonspecific: While the data are not necessarily diagnostic or a particular disease, small bowel bacterial overgrowth is a little known disease that could be responsible for te problem. See a GI doc for a consultation.

Many things: Sed rate is a test that indirectly measures how much inflammation is in the body.This may be elevated in autoimmune diseases, infection, and other inflammatory conditions. It is non specific and needs other tests to find out etiology.

No such thing: It is a measure of red cell settling in a tube. Elevated is significant, low is not.

No: Elevated ESR - sed rate is caused by inflammation. Although inflammation can make it difficult to lose weight, obesity doesn't by itself cause an elevated sed rate.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Hydralazine, isoniazid, procainamide, & several anticonvulsants can produce false + ANA ; zocor (simvastatin) & other "statins" (hmg-coa reductase inhibitors) can elevate esr. Fortunately there are other tests that can confirm or refute a positive ANA or elevated esr. Be sure to tell your doc all the meds & supplements you are taking.
