What: What are the side effects? Best to discuss this with your physician. Effexor (venlafaxine) can cause weird side effects and is especially prone to discontinuation syndrome. Dont stop it abruptly.

Normal dose: As you mentioned, this is a side effect that can occur with Effexor (venlafaxine) XR. Generally, these side effects are transient and go away after a few days. However, this dose is generally achieved after a 1-2 week titration period. Best bet is to call the prescribing doctor and tell them what's happening since they know your history.  If manageable, try to stick with it for a few more days. Hope that helps!

Possible: When an unexplained rash appears after the introduction of a new drug (even within weeks prior), the new drug is guilty unproven proven innocent.  However, there are also other causes for rash.

i have  akithisia my md believes is a side effect of effexor xr.  i have been off the med for 2 days now.  still having symptoms.  should they be gone?  i am taking ativan 1 mg tid, inderal tid and occasionally benadryl.

Taking Effexor/ CBD: While there is no known significant interaction all meds and supplements should be taken with clear goals for limited time and under supervision. Individual side effects still apply, make sure all prescribers are aware of what you take if not prescribed.

Use Caution/Monitor: There is a potential for interaction. The combination of green tea (contains theanine) may increase the risk of bleeding.

Usually not.: Then vast majority of my patients who have switched from Effexor xr to venlafaxine er have done so without difficulty. That said, generics can vary in the inactive ingredients and some may perceive a difference.

i take effexor xr 150mg at noon each day. accidentally took a second dose at midnight as well. should i be ok or seek emergency help? no symptoms yet

No immediate danger: you should be ok. If ou begin to feel light headed or faint get in to ER as soon as possible. And drink lots of water

Not usually: Look at the other things that you are eating, including beans and cabbage.  Check google for foods that contribute to intestinal flatus (gas).

Team Talk: The treatment of depression with medication is a team project with you and your M.D. As the team. Often the game plan will include psychotherapy and medication. If a psychiatrist is rx the meds and providing psychotherapy, the progress will be discussed in sessions. If non- M.D. Is doing psychotherapy, there will need to be talk between 3 team members. Sometimes it takes 4-6 weeks for meds to work.
