Time will tell: If you have pain and temperature sensation at 3 weeks, you have a good outlook for recovery.  Nerve recovery in the face takes up to 9 months; you may notice the area decrease in size over time.  There is the risk that you will have a small persistent patch of numbness, or just 'dullness'.  Take a b-complex vitamin for the next 6-9 months to ensure your bod has what you need for nerve recovery.

Crooked smile: At two weeks post injury, it is normal to have swelling which would lead to distortion of your smile.  It is very unlikely that this is nerve damage and your smile should return to normal.  This may take as long as a couple of months.

Takes time: It might take some time for all the sensation to go back to normal. Sometimes months. You should definitely discuss it  with your dentist  to keep a close watch on that.

Depends: Depends on the severity of the injury. In this case sounds like shearing or crush injury but sometimes if it's stretch with no damage to the axon it may recover quickly. Otherwise, human axon growth rates are 1 mm/day in small nerves and 5 mm/day in large nerves. If there is no way the nerve would reconnect then maybe permanent but best to check with a maxillofacial surgeon.
