Bumps can also represent growths, both benign and cancerous and should be addressed early to keep the problem simple. See an ENT specialist.

With the understanding that I am not a specialist in this area, i would think your sex plays no role as far as a reason not to use it. What is best for you can be best answered by your own physician or a dermatologist, depending upon the reason for the dry lips.

Lip balm can cause!: Many people become addicted or at least dependent on lip balm; lip balms often have chemicals that irritate lips. Ingredients in toothpastes and gums may also irritate your lips.
