Atelectasis is the : accumulation of mucus in a part of the lung, resulting in  a collapse of the lung segment.  May also be caused by a growth or infection .  Treating the underlying cause  and  breathing exercises  as well as  mucolytics,   oral hydration  and chest physiotherapy  can relieve this
condition.  In advanced cases, therapeutic bronchoscopy is helpful.

Scar: There is a skeletal structure that supports the lung known as the interstitium.  When this structure is thicker than normal it can be due to scarring, fluid or inflammation.  Interstitial scarring can be the result of a prior pneumonia in that area of the lung or related to a progressive inflammatory/scarring process.

Usually ok: Lung nodules happen commonly for a lot of reasons.  Scarring in the lung is the most common, from a past infection, autoimmune disease, or even from childhood.  The worry is that if these nodules get bigger over time, that they can actually be cancerous.  How much docs worry is based on your age, smoking and health history, how big they are, and location.  If your doc is worried repeat CT is done.

Frenulum: sounds like there was trauma and a small tear. This should heal spontaneously. If it worsened or you get other sites be seen immediately.

: There mucus impaction in your airways. You may try steam or vapor inhalation to loosen the phlegm and cough it out. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless as that will ensure proper hydration.

Pulmonary nodules: It would be nice to know as what are bronchoscopic  finding, cell cytology and fungal studies reports? You have four small non calcified nodules ranging4mm to7 mm. You are 37. Any smoking history or cancer? Please stick to your pulmonary doctor who knows you well, and follow the advice. Thanks.

Needs evaluation: The presence of linear opacities with hilar adenopathy can be due to several acute or chronic conditions such as histoplasmosis, atypical mycobacterial infections, sarcoidosis, or rarely malignancy etc. Your husband should immediately see a lung specialist for a complete evaluation to determine the underlying cause, which will help determine appropriate course of treatment.

Pulmonary Testing: Pulmonary function testing with DLCO and a six minute walk test is suggested. The radiographic changes may or may not progress and need to be followed in relationship to symptoms such as shortness of breath.

Atelectasis: Atelectasis itself is not much of a concern. It is a medical term that means your lung/airspaces were not fully inflated during the time the CT scan was taken. It can show up in many disease states (more than just asthma) but it can show up incidentally in healthy individuals that have no symptoms. Maybe: Lung cancer doesn't usually cause lymphopenia (low lymphocyte count). The lymphopenia itself warrants evaluation. Have you been checked for H.I.V.?
