Liver problem?: Typically a light or tan colored stool suggests a lack of bile. This often results after gall bladder removal, but not sure why you would have just noticed for the last week.  Did you use any anti-diarrhea medicines (Pepto-Bismal)? Bile is produced in the liver, so if the change persists and light colored stool continues, see your doctor for evaluation/liver check. Nah...: Lighter colored stools reflect what you have eaten recently.  Unless you are have very loose stools like diarrhea that you have to worry about becoming dehydrated -or - bloody stools, the change in stool color is not to be concerned with.  Any new foods? Supplements? Vitamins? Or medications?   If so these would explain as well...   Best to you!

Depends: Colored alcohols do taint the color of stool the next day, esp if they are consumed in quantity.  Wine is an example.  Also, they do not always turn the stool the color of the drink, you kind have to think about the color wheel in art class, what colors when mixed together create another color.  If you have other symptoms, then forget the above and go see your pcp.  Red stools are trump, see pcp.

Seems to be  normal.: The color of stool varies frequently and depends on the food eaten. The smell also varies on type of food eaten and the duration of digestion. Burning after bowel movements is a sign of soreness in the anal area usually from hard stools. If the symptoms are constant or associated with abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or blood in stools, then don't worry about them.
